Tom Rothman has been dropping hints lately that there are talks underway for a Daredevil reboot.
A "reboot" is an industry term; it simply means they are thinking of making a new movie based on the Daredevil character and comic book, as though the first one never happened. In general, a lot of people consider Daredevil to have been a flop and failure.
They are wrong.
Daredevil was the only movie to remain true to the source material and still be a good movie. Yes, it flails a bit; yes, Farrell is awful in it; it is not without its failings. However, it was so close to the actual comic book - it covered so much of DD's history so well and yet still worked as a movie - that, as a lifelong and devoted fan of the Man Without Fear, I was honestly standing in the theater, cheering! I was pointing-out the different characters to my friend who went with me, telling him how they fit into the scheme of things, as well as the creators who made cameos. I also had to show him which frames were recreations of covers and artwork from the series.
He did not care.
Still, with the exception of a few clumsy CGI scenes, Daredevil was a damn good movie! I admit I saw it a few times and have no real ambition to see it again anytime soon, but were I completely bored and just wanted to watch something, Daredevil is definitely an option.
Of course, being so familiar with the character and his history - and loving him like I do - it's impossible for me to be impartial; maybe the movie doesn't work for viewers who are unaware of the characters and events unfolding onscreen?
At any rate, the possibility of a franchise reboot lingers.
