The Rundown: 10-12-08

A bunch of short bits and riffs I've collected over the week which fell just short of whole posts on their own. Always remember: do not give The Rundown to children ages 3 and under.
  • Prairie Home Companion began its 35th season October 4th.
  • A stamp featuring a famous painting of actress, Bette Davis, excised her cigarette. Film critic, Roger Ebert, takes issue with it as censorship. He's right.
  • Lisa Marie Presley gave birth to twin girls this past Tuesday. Their names have not been released.
  • io9 has the never-before-aired clips from Battlestar Galactica's 4th season in advance of the DVD's release.
  • Just Jared has pics of Robert Downey, Jr. as Sherlock Holmes.
  • Fans are paying $100-1000 to attend a BBQ reuniting the cast of Dallas in Parker, a suburb of the show's namesake. The reunion takes place November 8th.
  • This week's My Cup o' Joe has tons of advance artwork and news about your favorite characters, including the Scarlet Witch!
  • Former Olympics athlete, Tim Montgomery, will spend up to a decade in prison for drug-dealing. He was previously banned from athletics and stripped of his Olympic medal for steroid use.
  • If there really is such a thing as "weedpunk," The Rundown agrees it is probably the gayest thing ever (barely and incoherently) thought of.
And that is your Rundown for October 12th, 2008.
