Warner Brothers is set to make a hybrid live-action/animated Yogi Bear movie.
Yogi Bear originally appeared as a supporting character on The Huckleberry Hound Show in the late 50s. He got his own show in 1961. All of Yogi Bear and his sidekick, Boo Boo's, exploits center around stealing lunchbaskets from picnickers and avoiding Ranger Smith. The character and cartoon introduced the phrase, "Smarter than the average bear" into the American vernacular. Spin-offs featuring the characters have been made to the present day (though I found no direct references, [adult swim] recently made a Yogi Bear short which aired for about three months, straight).
Warner Bros.' film will feature live-action with CGI-animated Yogi Bear and Boo Boo.
