The Screen Actors Guild is considering balloting members to strike, following deadlocked talks.
The latest offer was rejected in July and those negotiating on behalf of SAG said a strike was "unavoidable." If 75% of those balloted agree, the strike will move forward.
The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers responded, ""Is this really the time for anyone associated with the entertainment business to be talking about going on strike? Not only is the business suffering from recent economic conditions, but if ever there was a time when Americans wanted the diversions of movies and television, it is now."
The studios rejected new talks after failing to come to terms over the summer. In particular, actors want a better return from DVD sales, as well as a greater say in on-air product endorsements.
