Waa-Wa-Waa: Peanuts VO Actress Convicted

Child actress, Pamelyn Ferdin, who did voice-over work as Lucy in the classic Peanuts cartoons, was convicted of contempt of court for her animal rights activism Thursday.

Ferdin, who also appeared as a live-action child actress on The Brady Bunch and The Odd Couple, was convicted for demonstrating outside the homes of researchers who use live animals. Ferdin also distributed fliers with the University of California, Los Angeles faculty members' addresses and pictures.

She faces up to five days in jail, as well as a $1000 fine. Pamelyn Ferdin insists she has done nothing wrong.

A judge threw-out the conviction yesterday on a technicality and ordered a new trial, scheduled to begin April 28.

The actress stated she had downloaded the flier with the names and numbers of the university's faculty from a website and was not aware it violated the injunction. Her lawyer argued that Ferdin was not made aware of the fact that she had the right to legal consultation or against self-incrimination before she took the stand.
