The (nearly) 15-year old actress is said to have been approached by makers of the Twilight sequel, New Moon. Apparently, they didn't even need to see her audition; according to sources, Fanning was offered the part outright and negotiations began immediately.
If it works out, Fanning will take the role of Jane, a member of an Italian group of vampires - the deadliest in the series. An online petition calling for Dakota Fanning to get the part may have had something to do with her being offered it.
Shooting for New Moon is set to begin in March and the movie should be released November 20th.
