NASA to Name Space Module on Colbert Report

Though he got the most votes in the contest NASA held to name the new space module, Stephen Colbert is not 100% certain the addition to the space station will bear his name. He is, however, 100% certain he will learn the name NASA is giving the module this Tuesday, when astronaut, Sunita Williams, appears on his program (The Colbert Report) to announce NASA's decision.

NASA held an online contest where voters could choose between four suggestions (Serenity, Legacy, Earthrise, and Venture) or offer a name of their own. Stephen Colbert got wind of the contest and pressed his audience and fans to submit his name. And he won! NASA still gets to decide what to name the module, though. The space module is a new room on the international space station.

The comedian was quoted as saying, "I certainly hope NASA does the right thing. Just kidding; I hope they name it after me."

Astronaut Sunita Williams appeared on The Colbert Report last week to tell the host and his audience that NASA had decided to name the new Node 3 "Tranquility."

However, NASA offered the comedian a concession: Tranquility will be equipped with the C.O.L.B.E.R.T. - Combined Operational Load-Bearing External Resistance Treadmill. Williams quipped, "Everyday somebody [in the space station] will have to jump on the COLBERT."
