26-year old Doctor Who fan, Seb Neale, lost his life after falling and injuring his head at a friend's cook-out. His parents knew Seb wouldn't want a maudlin funeral, so they recruited some of his friends and put together a Time Lord-themed send-off.
Neale, a lifelong Doctor Who fan, was said to favor David Tennant - especially when he wore a suit, which he did whenever possible. He also sold Doctor Who and sci-fi movie memorabilia online. When the 200-some mourners arrived, they received a service card bearing a picture of Seb dressed as Tennant, holding Doctor Who's sonic screwdriver. It read, "I'm a Time Lord - I'm not a human being. I walk in eternity."
Friends and loved ones read quotes and script excerpts from the seminal sci-fi TV series instead of scriptures. But the crowning jewel of Seb Neale's Time Lord funeral had to be the Tardis-shaped coffin, replete with flashing, blue siren. When the service concluded, the light began flashing as the Doctor Who theme music signaled the start of Seb's new voyage.
