Bay Buys Frey's Sci-Fi

Transformers director, Michael Bay, purchased the rights to James Frey's sci-fi book, I Am Number Four. The book is the first in a series in which an alien race escaping their planet's end and their race's extinction seeks asylum amidst your average American highschool. If the Transformers movies are any indication, I Am Number Four may have just the right mix of alien races fighting extinction and teen angst to equal hundreds of millions at the box office.

James Frey is the author Oprah Winfrey verbally beat-up on her talk show. Oprah could not grasp the very simple facts of "libel," slander, or defamation - all offenses to which Frey would have opened himself up, had he not taken liberties with the characters and events in his best-selling "autobiography," A Million Little Pieces. To her credit, Frey should have hedged closer to the truth than he did. Ultimately though, it was Frey's publisher at-fault.
