Ghouls, ghosts, and the unnamed things that lurk in dark corners come together in the recently announced trade paperback collection from Bluewater Productions’ sold out, Gothic horror comic book series Vincent Price Presents.
Vincent Price Presents Volume I, scheduled for release September 30th, includes four issues from the successful anthology series and features an introduction by film legend and frequent Price collaborator, Roger Corman.
"These stories showcase some of the best of the comic horror genre," said Darren Davis, Bluewater’s president. "Our writers, artists, and colorists have combined talent to create some truly innovative and bizarre landscapes for a new generation of Vincent Price devotees and fans of strong genre storytelling."
The stories include horrific transformations, twisting plots, perversions of science, labyrinthine castles, Gothic dread, surreal revelations, and a little unexpected genre-bending. In each tale, Vincent Price serves as the iconic host and muse.
"We anticipate several more macabre collections in the near future," Davis said. "The series continues to be one of our highest-selling and best reviewed titles, and we are planning to incorporate some of his more famous movie roles in future issues."
The popular series, which debuted last Halloween, is currently a monthly title and each issue contained one complete story. It has been featured in “Fangoria,” Horror Hound” and “Rue Morgue.”
Bluewater currently enjoys partnership with the Price estate controlled by his daughter Victoria. Plans are currently being developed to celebrate Price’s 100th birthday in 2011.
The suggested retail price (SRP) for the upcoming trade paperback is $17.99.
