The Harlem Globetrotters are bounding back to TV! For the first time since the 1970s, the Harlem Globetrotters will star in their own animated TV series. Toronto-based Cookie Jar - known for Caillou and Inspector Gadget - signed the basketball-based entertainment team to a production deal. While Cookie Jar has not released any of the details, an animated show with licensing tie-ins is assured.
The Globetrotters last appeared on the small screen in 1979, when NBC repackaged their 1971-72 animated CBS series, The Harlem Globetrotters (Hanna-Barbera), as The Go-Go Globetrotters. That's kinda neat, when you consider that Cookie Jar's Inspector Gadget character's catch-phrase was "Go-go gadget [insert gadget here]." And that you probably know them from Scooby-Doo.
