Andy Warhol's 200 One Dollar Bills, with a pre-sale value of $8-12 million, stunned Sotheby's auctioneers and set records when it sold for $43.8 million! This is the second-largest amount ever paid for a work by the artist; Warhol's Green Car Crash (Green Burning Car I) sold for $71.7 in 2007.
All-told, the auction exceeded pre-sales estimates by over 50%.
