The woman who claimed illusionist, David Copperfield, raped her on some magic island was arrested for prostitution and filing a false police report. Investigators had already ceased looking into Lacey Carroll's claims against Copperfield a few weeks back, according to TMZ, because her credibility has been "called into question."
Now, a police report claims Carroll attempted to garner $2000 from a man for sex after following him back to his hotel room, then told police he "forced himself upon [her]." She immediately refused to cooperate with the investigation after this, stating it might "tarnish" her case against Copperfield. Police charged her with prostitution and filing a false report.
David Copperfield's attorney quickly quipped that this incident "vindicated" the master illusionist and proved Carroll had attempted to "extort" the magician.
