As you've probably heard, Andy Dick was arrested yet again last week in W. Va. According to charges, he groped/fondled a male patron and bouncer at a bar near the Funny Bone comedy club, where he performed later that weekend. While at least one website reports a third victim was involved, no charges were filed. Dick was charged with two felony counts of sexual assault, but was bailed-out by the owner of the Funny Bone who emphatically denied anything had taken place; according to him, he accompanied the troubled comedian into the bar, where the two remained less than 10 minutes, and absolutely nothing happened.
While the arrests were based on the alleged victims' accounts and bolstered by independent eyewitness testimony, some commenters from the area claim Dick dressed in drag and performed such lewd behavior as part of his comedy act, suggesting Dick might not have been 100% mentally present whenever these alleged attacks are said to have taken place, or that those alleging the attacks may have heard of such shenanigans and filed frivolous claims. Being onstage really does provide a rush not unlike speed. Which, BTW, the former Celebrity Rehab: Sober House performer was thought to have been under the influence of, as well as alcohol.
I honestly don't know what to think about the whole thing. While I was absolutely devastated by his appearance on the VH1 show a season or two back, Dick's propensity for drug and alcohol -fueled outbursts are well-recorded - he is still on probation for a similar attack on a 17-year old girl in 2008. While his substance abuse issues are clear, I think his behavior indicates some deeper, mental and/or emotional issue; he clearly has Boundary Issues.
