AMC's forthcoming Walking Dead, based on Robert Kirkman's Image title of the same name, has cast its lead: British actor, Andrew Lincoln. Lincoln has appeared in numerous British TV shows, as well as the movie, Love Actually, but this is his first American TV role.
Lincoln takes on the role of small-town cop, and group leader, Rick Grimes. John Bernthal plays Shane, Grimes' former partner before the Apocalypse. Kirkman was excited about the casting. Filming on Walking Dead begins in June in Atlanta, GA, with Frank Darabont at the helm.
