Warner Brothers has officially announced that Batman 3 will hit theaters July 12th, 2012. Christopher Nolan will return to the director's chair, and according to all reports, Christian Bale will return to the cowl. Nolan has said he is already working on a script, with David Goyer and his brother, Jonathan Nolan, but he gave no details as to the villains, plot, or anything else.
The Dark Knight was released on July 18th, 2008. The July 12th, 2012 release date could always change, but it is - as of now - Warner Brothers' "official" release date for Batman 3.
