Rumors abound as to Xbox' live TV offerings, set for release next year (2011). Some say Xbox is setting-up a single channel, which will stream live broadcasts to the game system, but a new rumor (citing an undisclosed source) claims that Xbox will actually host an entire array of TV stations, and that users will be able to "record" them for playback.
None of this is substantiated, though the channel idea has been rumored for several months now. You can already stream movies directly to your Xbox from Netflix, so the basic technology is there.
I chose to post this here instead of on The Cyberculturalist because it focuses more on entertainment than technology, but discussions similar to this one are usually found there.
