A $1.3 million peso production, Juan of the Dead features a 40-year old slacker who has been letting life slowly slip away from him while he plies his trade as a janitor, until that fateful day when Cuba is overrun by zombies. Juan finds his calling, protecting people from the undead for a price. But, as more Cubans flee the island, Juan finds he has to stick around... for some reason or other.
I don't know if this is direct-to-DVD or if it will only be available as an import or what, I just thought the idea was kinda cool and figure it'll be sought-after in no time flat. I do wonder if this is the turning-point for zombie flicks, though; have we finally hit the wall with Juan?
