Dungeons & Dragons threatens prison security, according to a three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. The Appeals Court said "cooperative games can mimic the organization of gangs and lead to the actual development thereof." This was in response to prisoner Kevin T. Singer's request to be allowed D&D materials. Singer is serving a life sentence for murdering his sister's boyfriend.
