Porn performers must now wear condoms when they are on certified sound stages that are licensed for shooting. The question is whether or not the porn industry will remain in L.A. or simply move to one of the surrounding counties. Another question is how the ordinance will be upheld.
Players in the porn industry argue that pornographic films featuring condoms do not sell as well as those without them. The industry has been closed down at least twice in the last decade when it was discovered that performers had HIV.
