On Insidious - A Review

This movie should have been called Insipid. It plays as though the creative team saw Ghostbusters and a handful of other classic 1980s and 90s films and assumed no one else was aware of them. It's no homage but it stops just short of completing ripping off previous films.

Possibly Insidious' greatest crime is that it never achieves, nor even really tries for, any genuine scares. Every fright in this film is completely manufactured and of the cat jumping from the closet variety. There is no gore; it is completely PG-13.

Skip it.
