GIGANTIC Overhaul Underway

Yeah, yeah, yeah, you've heard it all before because I've said it all before - too many times, in fact - but this time I really mean it. REALLY, I mean it this time. FOR. REALLY.

Not just The Rundown, but the entire The Weirding site and structure is set to change in the coming months. This is a total - like SUPER CEREAL - overhaul. In the last several months, we've expanded to include video playlists, original programming (videos), and more, and plan to go ever further in those directions, which requires a complete restructuring and reorganizing of the site, much of which hasn't been updated or redesigned in several years.

I can't say what, exactly, this means at this point because everything is still in the planning stages but it should mean that things will be easier to find, the site will be easier to navigate, and hopefully more aesthetically pleasing without sacrificing functionality. You may have noticed a different aesthetic and approach across the social networks and sites we employ lately - we've always been comically acerbic but with our little comedy show and all (available anytime on The Weirding YouTube Channel - the link to which can be found in the sideboard! - and also LIVE [almost] every Saturday night at 9:30pm CST), we've ramped that up a bit as of late. We've also been employing images more than we have in the past.

I don't know that we'll be expanding in this direction or if we'll hold onto the Art Deco Minimalism we started with but we've long since abandoned the "Timeless..." Roaring '20s or whatever theme, so it all remains to be seen. I am also working on a new desktop and have a new laptop arriving this week, so there's an awful lot of ducks to get in a row before any redesign even starts.

I also want to note - and again, this is something else I've said time and again - The Weirding was never intended to be so tabletop RPG-centric; that came about only because almost all of that material was already online at the GeoCities site, so it seemed easiest to "port" over (it was not). The Weirding was always meant to be an entertainment site - sometimes informative, sometimes angry, sometimes political, sometimes absurd - and tabletop RPG is definitely a form of entertainment, so to those ends, it's all well and good, but a host of obstacles have impeded me from being able to bring you more non-RPG stuff. So while there's more tabletop RPG content headed your way at some point or other, we will not be focusing on that type of content to the extent that we have up to now.

As usual, this is just a heads-up in case you drop by and things are even more of a mess than usual.
