Frank Miller, Andrew Dice Clay Tonight!

Tonight's a good night for the tube-viewing, whether you're a comics fan or movies fan, or just an old guy like me.

Andrew Dice Clay has returned to... well, he has a new reality series premiering tonight on VH1. If you were never a Dice fan, then this is sure to disappoint but, if you ever liked anything he did, it'll be interesting to see what this is all about. I was never a huge Dice fan, but I saw him live and I did like a lot of his stuff up to the end of it, when he was just... he just lost "It." His whole schtick got old and he didn't seem to be able to move on -- or care to, whichever.

Then, on G4, it's Icons with Frank Miller, "a true comic book genius" -- and those are their words, not mine. Although I couldn't agree more.

Last night was BBCA's premiere of Robin Hood and I had it on my calendar and everything, yet still somehow managed to miss it! But I'm sure it will be rerun at some point, so I'll keep my eye out for it and let you know what I think once I see it.

Dice's show is a lot of fun. No matter what you might have thought about him or taken from his act, he's nowhere near what you might think. Not only is he self-deprecating, but it's an honest, humbling self-deprecation - not a dishonest, humbling self-mockery to evoke sympathy or anything.

The Icons show was a little less. It wasn't disappointing, but it was really little more than a promo for 300, and Attack of the Show (also on G4) tomorrow goes to the set of the movie. This movie's going to be huge. Still, the episode wasn't as good as I'd hoped.
