Disturbia Pulls Three-Week High

Crime thriller, Disturbia, has pulled off what special-effects extravaganzas and critically-acclaimed animation spectaculars could not, having secured three straight weeks in the top box office position.

Ghost Rider, Nicolas Cage, and his psychic thriller, Next, opened in the #3 spot, while Disney's Meet the Robinsons fell to 6^th, followed by Shaun of the Dead alum's new Hot Fuzz in 7^th. Horror films Vacancy and Invisible took the 8^th and 2^nd positions, respectively.

Of course, pretty much everyone expects the summer blockbuster, Spider-Man 3 to literally dominate the box office for at least three weeks, if not many more. With a week-long celebration of the seminal comic-book character leading up to his American premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, Spider-Man 3 is expected to be the Hollywood hit of the summer, if not the year.
