TV Rundown - Studio 60, Dresden Files, Hex, Eureka

I've been doing some digging on our favorite shows and have some pretty good news - well, mostly tepid, but something to report.

It appears that Dresden Files has not been canceled, but it also hasn't been greenlighted for a second season as of this writing. It last aired two weeks ago which was apparently its season finale, though I don't recall it being billed as such and only found that out by reading about its ratings. Sci-Fi has been rerunning Friday nights' Painkiller Jane episodes and the series is starting to grow on me. Not unlike the way Dresden Files did. Public opinion seems to agree with me: it got off to a slow start, but picked up in later episodes.

Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is returning!!!!! Its next episode will air May 24th - a Thursday - which is a move from its Monday timeslot. You may recall that it was originally scheduled to run on Thursdays in the 9:00 slot, but NBC decided to run it on Mondays when they learned that ABC was running Grey's Anatomy on Thursdays. No need for Grey's fans to worry, they've been rerunning the new episodes Fridays at 7:00 PM, CST (that's when I've been catching them, thanks to Smallville and Supernatural). Like I said, if you haven't seen Studio 60, you are missing one of the better shows on TV.

BBCA showed a promo for the return of Hex this summer. Hex will start in June on what BBCA is billing as their "Supernatural Saturday." No word as to exactly what this block will consist of, aside from our favorite witchy show, but if I had to guess, I'd say Hex, Life on Mars, and whatever that show with the medium is (it's not very good).

Lastly - almost forgot - Eureka is returning for at least 13 more episodes in July. It remains one of Sci-Fi's most-watched shows. The premiere episode is Sci-Fi's highest-rated program ever. Who Wants to be a Superhero? should be back, as well.
