Actress, Jessica Collins, has signed onto the Heroes cast and her character will debut this fall season. Producers say she will be a superpowered woman working for a mysterious organization but are not giving out much more than that. Creator, Tim Kring, said that this season will focus on individual characters more stringently than the last - there won’t be as much jumping around between characters and storylines, meaning not every character will appear in every episode. They did this once or twice the first season and those were some of the better episodes (such as when “the cheerleader” and her family were taken hostage inside their own home).
George Takei will also return as Hiro’s father and Kring dropped hints that there will be a surprise actor Takei fans will appreciate. Actress, Dania Ramirez, will also join the cast as a super from South America, but no details on her character or powers have been released. DC Comics will also release a series of hardcover graphic novels based on the series. Also, as we reported earlier, Kevin Smith will write and direct at least one episode of the new spin-off series, Heroes: Origins.
The first season DVD will be released August 28th.
