The long-delayed release of the movie, Fanboys, has finally been set for September.
Fanboys was written and made some years ago, but never released. The movie is set in 1998, and the characters are driven to break-in to LucasFilms Ranch to see the Star Wars prequel because one of the main characters is suffering from cancer. Harvey Weinstein apparently objected to the storyline and had the movie recut to exclude all references to this. Fans who had already seen the film threatened to boycott other projects, leading to a re-release, which premiered at Comic-Con yesterday.
Fanboys is set for release on September 19th.
