Rundown: Early Summer, 2008

Ah, couple a good night of surfing (more or less) aimlessly with Zemanta and you get one of our custom-built Rundowns (* with Retsin!):
  • Actor, Tom Jane, probably best known to comic book movie fans as one Frank Castle (aka, the Punisher) is apparently very interested in tackling the role of DC's Jonah Hex in an upcoming movie. But as of now, he does not appear to be a part of its development - though he definitely looks the part.
  • Pamela Anderson surprised Australia's Big Brother household with a guest-appearance. She will spend three days in the house with them, but decided her nights were best spent elsewhere. Producers are hoping her celebrity will boost flagging ratings. Anderson said she was paid "A lot... more than I'm worth" for the appearance. Big Brother is in its 408th season.
  • Quentin Tarantino will start filming his WWII epic, Inglorious Bastards, in October. It is the story of... The Dirty Dozen. While one Msr. Pitt's name has been floated about the rumor mill, the only certainties are Tarantino staples, Michael Madsen and Tim Roth. He hopes to have the movie ready for a May, 2009 release at Canne's, which would fit Pitt's schedule perfectly, as he is now residing en Francaise with girlfriend, Angelina Jolie, and their 23497 babies (Lemon, Lime, Raspberry, Apple, and Curly).
  • A post-9/11 remake of 1984's Red Dawn has been given the greenlight. At one time, the film held the Guinness World Record for "Most Violent Movie Ever Made."
  • I could do an entire Rundown on Joss Whedon's upcoming projects alone, but MTV already did it for me.
  • We have been receiving a lot of hits with the search phrase "Bring Hex Back" lately. We are all for that!
  • DC wasted no time in pushing an ElfQuest movie at parent Warner Brothers. DC acquired the rights to the classic indie comic a short while back. The movie will be written and directed by Rawson Thurber.
And that there's your Rundown for early summer, 2008.

The New York Magazine got their hands on a copy of Tarantino's script for Inglorious Bastards.

The article has some pics and excerpts, but only discusses it; this is not a link to the actual, full script.

ICv2 reports that DC no longer has the rights to ElfQuest publishing, but are still selling their TPB of the series.

ElfQuest currently has no publisher and is seeking one.
