Someone was complaining recently about Marvel's current predilection for painted art (I read so much from so many sources, I've no idea where I read it, but I'm wont to say it was a recent CBG) and I tend to agree with the assessment. However, I wanted to point-out how well the art fits this particular book.

A lot of us complain that modern comics have lost their soul - and we're right - but it isn't that the technological advancements have rendered the medium moot, it's that the majority of the "creators" working in the field today aren't real comics fans - they don't have a feel for the medium, the superhero genre, or comic books, in general.

I can't imagine presenting an underwater story or scene in any other media; watercolors, oils, acrylics - paint is the only real way to render underwater scenes.
