George Michael was arrested for drug possession again this weekend.
While he was caught with Class A and C drugs (one of which was crack cocaine), he was let off with a warning. Class A possession carries a possible prison term of seven years and/or an unlimited fine.
The Home Office minister said that it was just as important for people to realize drug laws are flexible as it is to send a message about the dangers of drug use. In times past, many may have thought Michael's celebrity allowed him to "slide," but celebrities have been particularly hard-hit by legalities in recent years, at least in the United States, as they have been singled-out to be made "examples" of in a corrupt, unfair, and injudicious attempt to frighten we lesser mortals.
