Yankees Stadium, "The House That Ruth Built," is 85 years old and the venerable American sports stadium saw its final game Sunday.
In a fitting goodbye, the Yankees beat the Orioles 7-3. During its tenure, the stadium hosted over 6500 baseball games and was visited by the Pope three times. The resident team has won more World Series than any other major league baseball outfit.
Following the opening of the Yankees' new stadium in 2009, the old one will be demolished and turned into parkland.
