Warner Bros. signed Get Smart director, Peter Segal, to a three-year first-look deal to which directing the Captain Marvel movie was attached. Segal is currently working on a sequel to Get Smart and is then set to direct another film before the Captain Marvel project gets underway. Segal started work on Captain Marvel two years ago for another company. Warner Bros. also secured the rights to the Captain Marvel script by John August as part of the agreement.
