While the final three episodes of the canceled Pushing Daisies hit ABC May 30th, Bryan Fuller told E! that DC Comics has ordered a 12-issue mini-series featuring the characters... and about 1000 zombies! "It's the Pie-Maker vs. 1000 corpses!" he said.
Originally, Fuller had mentioned Marvel when the subject of Pushing Daisies coming to comic books came about, but DC made the order, so DC is where they're headed. Fuller said he wrote the 12-issue story in such a way as to "blackmail them into ordering more comics," but admits they were "unable to blackmail ABC" and had to rewrite the final episode to give viewers a satisfying conclusion.
The 12-issue Pushing Daisies mini-series hits shelves this fall, but Comic-Con attendees may get a special, sneak-preview.
