Redbox is busy removing the DVD and promotional artwork for one of Brittany Murphy's last movies, Deadline. In the movie, Murphy plays a writer who moves to a country house to combat writer's block, but soon comes to think the house haunted. The poster art shows Brittany Murphy apparently lifeless in a tub.
Though we have chosen not to include the art because it could be seen as being in bad taste, I do wonder if there is any historical reason to do so. The artwork is still showing on Netflix, but it is literally as described above; it is a tasteful picture for a suspense flick, not a morbid gorefest or anything, but it's still kind of morbid to show here simply to illustrate the point. Nevertheless, once the art is removed from all outlets (which Redbox says it hopes to have complete by January 1st), products with the original art will skyrocket in value, becoming collectors' items.
Brittany Murphy still has other films awaiting release, including one called Abandoned. The 32-year old actress died suddenly of unknown causes last week.
