Ritchie Abandons Lobo for Sherlock Holmes Sequel

Guy Ritchie's Lobo adaptation has been put on the backburner as the director goes to work on a sequel to this year's Sherlock Holmes. Shooting on the Sherlock Holmes project is reported to begin this summer, though the project has yet to actually get the greenlight.

Lobo already has a script and was set to begin shooting early this year, so there is no immediate news on how this will play-out for that fraggin bastich, but WB is expected to simply find another director. If they stick with Ritchie, production obviously could not begin until late this year or early 2011, so fans of The Main Man may be waiting another two years or more before seeing the blue juicehead hit the big screen.

Sherlock Holmes has grossed over $300m worldwide, so far.
