According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel Studios has offered Chris Evans the role of Captain America. Evans is already a Marvel alum, having played Johnny Storm in two Fantastic Four flicks, but his schedule may not allow him to take the role of the shield-wielding Avenger, as he is already committed to a romantic-comedy opposite actress, Anna Farris, entitled What's Your Number? Marvel has neither confirmed nor denied this report.
Whomever takes the role would likely be signed to a full franchise of at least three Captain America movies, as well as at least the first Avengers flick, and guest-appearances in sundry other, Marvel superhero films. However, both films are set to begin shooting this summer, so Evans' involvement, even if confirmed, may not happen.
