Warrant Issued for Lindsay Lohan

A bench warrant for Lindsay Lohan's arrest has been issued by the judge overseeing her case. Her bail has also been doubled. The rumormill held that Lohan's SCRAM bracelet went off Sunday night during an after-party for the MTV Awards, but until now, nothing had been confirmed.

The judge met with attorneys this afternoon, though Lohan was not present. Moments before the meeting, Lohan insisted she had been tested the day before and was not in violation; she claims a friend ("Johnny") put a "light-up bracelet" on her at a party and that started the rumors.

The warrant was recalled after a bail bondsman put up the money to keep her out of jail.

You may have seen recent headlines claiming Lohan passed a urine test the night her SCRAM bracelet went off. This is actually true, though the test was administered some eight hours after the fact. Some are saying that could have been enough time for the alcohol in her system to have passed, but it probably is not; alcohol stays in the bloodstream for up to 24 hours. Lindsay Lohan's SCRAM bracelet indicated she had a BAC of .03-.04.

Now, some are saying her choice of drink - Kombucha tea - may be to blame. The tea is known to have trace amounts of alcohol - up to .5%, to be exact - but was recently pulled from shelves, because authorities are concerned it actually has more alcohol than what is listed on the label. However, a Kombucha spokesperson said there is no way the tea can be blamed for Lindsay Lohan's SCRAM bracelet lighting-up.

Whoops - Lindsay Lohan has also said someone spilled a drink on her bracelet at the MTV party she was attending.
