I haven't seen the most recent seasons of True Blood because I moved and cut the cord, so I can no longer get HBO. However, I have heard from reviews and comments online that it isn't as much fun as the early seasons. I have no idea, but this is what I've heard. Either way, True Blood is heading into its fifth season, after which series creator, Alan Ball, will step down as showrunner.
HBO said that this had been the plan since last summer, when Ball extended his overall deal with the network. There is no guarantee that True Blood will make it to a sixth season but if it does, Ball will remain as a consultant.
