Formatting and the Return of Lou Dobbs

You have probably noticed some formatting issues in posts with images - I know I have! I don't know what to tell you because this is Blogger's issue. I have tried and tried to work around this for weeks now, spending as much as a few hours on some of the posts with multiple images. They appear fine in the Preview, but when published, several of them have big breaks in the text, and moving the pictures around and around doesn't help - it just moves the breaks in the text!

So, while I apologize for the odd formatting on some of the entries, there really isn't much I can do about it. Some of them seem to work themselves out, but others flat-out refuse to act right.

Lou Dobbs is back, baby! And I mean back in a BIG way!

He went-off on basically everything you and I want to on his first day back and it was fantastic! Maybe it's because of all the blatant corruption, intolerance, and outright civil abuse I am personally dealing with, but it's almost like Lou Dobbs calms my mind; he says so many of the things I find myself fuming over internally - or discussing here or elsewhere online, or walking around in circles, screaming aloud at no one (um... just, just ignore that last bit) - that after I hear him really go after some of these people and issues with the vigor and intelligence with which they deserve to be approached, I almost feel like I have personally accomplished something.

Gah, I've missed you, Lou!

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the temporary newscasters who stepped-in for the esteemed Mr. Dobbs during his tonsillectomy, and they have like-minded views and opinions and sometimes go after the issues just as fervently, but let's face it: Lou Dobbs is The Man and it just seems to carry more weight when he does the same things they do. Not to take anything away from the great guest hosts that have appeared lately - I'm just saying!

Immigration Bill Flounders!

Well, those of us who had the sense to be concerned (which is all of us here, Gentle Readers) can finally breathe a sigh of relief; the proposed Amnesty Bill has failed.

For those who aren't certain why I made such an issue about this, I've gone into great detail in other posts, which I will Rundown for you here, then sum-up:

1. Illegal aliens flood our country to escape bad conditions in their own. It's understandable that they would want to do so, but once here, they have the audacity to riot in our streets, demanding we change our laws and social norms and mores to accommodate them. They did not have the guts to riot in their own countries and demand better conditions, so what the living eff makes them think they have the right to illegally sneak over here and demand we change our laws and values?
2. Lou Dobbs, an outspoken, intelligent, and extremely knowledgeable newsman from CNN, has been against this Amnesty bill from the start. In return, he has been accused of being a racist, a xenophobe, a hatemongerer, and all manner of similar epithets. Dobbs is a confirmed and proud Independent voter.
3. These bleeding-heart blowhards have their own agenda of cheap labor for big business, but misrepresent it as a genuine concern for human life. They insist that we owe anyone a better life if they enter our country - or even if they don't! - whether or not they do so legally. They tell us that these illegal immigrants take jobs "Americans won't take," but no one can think of any of these jobs; they cannot correlate the rise in gang-related violence in and around the Mexican border with the ongoing rise in gangland violence in Mexico itself; they say that illegal aliens do not bring disease, even though one Andrew Speaker made it all over the world and through the Canadian border with a virulent strain of drug-resistant TB just this week; they do not mention that illegal aliens get free medical and health care, free schooling, and pay no taxes - and that, the ones who do pay taxes do so because they have falsified or stolen identities. And anyone who brings up these very real facts is a racist (see #2, above).
4. The whole thing is a slap in the face to Americans and honest, upstanding, legal immigrants, not to mention an insult to our intelligence. It just proves that money can buy the Law in America.

I'm not against immigration nor Mexicans, for that matter; I'm against illegal immigration and specifically against the idea that if I speak up and speak out against it, that makes me a racist.

You know that no other industrious country in the world allows people without passports to just set up shop and go to work! In fact, one man was recently walking across the world and was not allowed into Russia because he didn't have the right clearance on his passport! In fact, Dog the Bounty Hunter was taken from his home in Hawaii and returned to Mexico to go to prison and await charges facing him. You know what the charges were? He went into Mexico to capture a convicted rapist - a rapist who faced 86 counts of aggravated rape! - a rapist who drugged his victims and filmed the crimes!

And did you know that two border patrol agents are sitting in prison for shooting a known drug-dealer who was attempting to bring hundreds of kilos of drugs into the country because the guy had diplomatic immunity!? You want to know how corrupt that government is, and how corrupt our government is for appeasing them, just think about this.

Lou Dobbs

Just recently, I've been watching Wolf Blitzer on CNN in the afternoon instead of my formerly favored, Charmed. The most basic reason is because they've been showing repeats that I've literally seen - literally - like 3-4 times already this week! Now, I'm relatively healthy for a 32-year old, but I've been suffering from general fatigue and dehydration and about a week ago, I started bumping into things and running into walls. Ahem. And I have to shave my hands now - a lot. (The palms.)

So, this guy, Lou Dobbs, answers mail during Blitzer's show, and I liked the e-mails he chose and really appreciated his exasperated cynicism toward the issues. He speaks something I like to call Common Sense, and Common Sense just ain't so common. I was actually shocked, because I thought CNN focused more on personalities like Anderson Cooper and whomever that guy is who filmed all those bombs with his shirt off (the SCUD Stud or whatever) and damn Nancy Grace. Dobbs is outraged at the current administration's ineffectiveness, ineptitude, and overall incompetence; he is offended by the continued advancement of policies and subjects which are financially prosperous but bad for the people; and he is anti-illegal immigration.

Today, he had two weaselly, little bastards from the Southern Poverty Law Center on there, who have been claiming that he is "anti-immigrant" and has been making outlandish claims about the percentage of those who are criminals or incarcerated in this country; the numbers of cases of Leprosy and how it is most notably found in those born in foreign countries (specifically Brazil and Mexico); and a whole host of other, blatantly libelous claims which painted Dobbs out to be nothing if not racist, cruel, and malicious, with a specific focus on immigrants - both illegal and otherwise.

As he started laying into them, I started posting this, and after he busted them out within 20 seconds of the start of the interview, their very next claim was that Lou Dobbs showed up most often on white-supremacist sites - and I froze. I thought about all the posts I've been making lately, illustrating the damning double-standards white Americans face, and thought, "Great - that's all I need!" But Lou just laughed it off and busted them out on yet another blatant lie, then another, and another. It was hilarious! And the best thing about it is that I never once felt bad for those little assholes.

I felt bad for me. See, this is how these people work:

They are the ones who started this campaign of misinformation, designed to discredit Dobbs. The very minute he started whipping their little butts, they turned around and indirectly accused everyone who is going to blog about this interview of being white-supremacists! That way, they cover their own asses by insinuating that, since Lou Dobbs is obviously racist and is allegedly mentioned most often on white-supremacist sites, anyone who mentions him is a white-supremacist.

This, for those outside of America, is the going brand of "Freedom of Speech" for whites and pretty much anyone who speaks positively about decidedly traditional values (called "Conservative" - with a capital C, so as to dismiss the definition of the word and negatively associate it with the American Republican political party) nowadays. It isn't true and it isn't just.

I'm as much an easy-going party guy as any other sometime musician and artist, but I do happen to believe that the current state of our world is out of control for a very basic reason: that "culture of permissiveness" Les Moonves talked about when he decided to first suspend, then fire, those two doofuses on The Doghouse radio program.

As I've stated before, I'm no "extreme Right-wing" so-and-so. I watch porn and see nothing wrong with that, but I think the fact that it's mainstream to the point where To Catch a Predator has become pop-culture and Joe Francis is legally and openly allowed to film underage girls and make millions of dollars by peddling their images across the world... well, I think that's the difference between a campfire and a bonfire.

I sometimes get drunk and make a total fool of myself and while I regret having done so later, I truly don't find it that big of a deal that someone - anyone - can actually succumb to the effects of alcohol and make a fool of themselves. Hell, that's why you drink in the first place. But I don't believe that hard drug users should be given a free pass to rob, steal, lie, and and do even worse under the assumption that they are "sick," while those with bonafide mental issues are just plain "Evil."

I don't appreciate the fact that minorities are allowed to say whatever the hell they want and demean, disgrace, ridicule, and lampoon white people and our history, but we are taken to task the minute we make the slightest oversight in judgment.

Lou Dobbs is not an extremist, nor is he a racist; Lou Dobbs is a Man. He speaks his mind and, most Evil of all, he has convictions - principles - most of which are based on Common Sense and morals. These are things the modern American majority simply abhor! Sure, it makes sense that allowing just anyone from any country to wander in and out as they please is probably a dangerous idea, but don't they have a right just because they are human beings? Because obviously, anyone who says otherwise is saying that all immigrants and visitors from foreign lands are dangerous and not even human beings! And so on and so forth.

This actually started off to be nothing more than a humorous "Hey now! Check out this guy, Lou Dobbs, and how he made these two jerks shrink in their suits!" (actually, I have a pretty good idea they bought them oversized, being all about "Poverty" and shit), and before I could even start, I was accused of being a racist - a white-supremacist, no less! - for doing so.

This is Censorship. This is America.
