Warren Ellis does it again! This time the legendary scribe teams up with superstar artists Alan Davis and Adi Granov to bring you into the stone cold psyche of Subject X.
Astonishing X-Men: Ghost Boxes #1 (of 2) is a non-stop romp through dystopic Marvel universes where the sadistic Agent X-13 has completed his mission. Not only does this director's cut style issue have two awe inspiring stories, but it also provides a unique look into the creative process behind crafting these tales with a look at Warren Ellis' script!

Critics and fans agree—Astonishing X-Men: Ghost Boxes is a hit! "Any fan of the start of Ellis's run on Astonishing, or even of his other works like Planetary and even his straight sci-fi work should feel right at home," said Lucas Siegel of Newsarama.Com. "A great read with great art, this is worth the read for all fans of the X-Men, hardcore and casual alike. I can't wait to read the second issue."

Growing up, I had the ludicrous idea of collecting basically everything X-related. Back then, it was just this side of impossible. Nowadays, there is simply no way to even attempt it. At the bottom of it all, sequential art is a business, so even though it bothers a lot of newcomers to hear words like "product" and "unit," they use the same terms in every artistic line out there - movies, music, you name it. It is a sad, harsh reality that when you have a proven product, the quality isn't that important.
That said, Marvel has been putting their best foot forward with their X-projects, using established fan favorites as the creative teams and focusing on many of the popular satellite characters (as opposed to Wolverine, who is a franchise in and of himself). Still, there is no way in hell anyone can collect all the X-merchandise anymore, much less a kid!
Join everyone's favorite Children of the Atom in the must-read Astonishing X-Men: Ghost Boxes #1 (of 2)! Written by critically acclaimed writer Warren Ellis (Thunderbolts) and brought to life by the mind-blowing interiors of Alan Davis (Uncanny X-Men) and Adi Granov (Iron Man: Viva Las Vegas), Ghost Boxes is an essential 2-issue tie-in to Warren Ellis and Simon Bianchi's debut Astonishing X-Men arc. Jumping out of the pages of Astonishing X-Men is the mysterious villain known as Subject X! What were his motives and who was he working for? No X-fan can dare miss this limited series as it reveals the true stakes of the Ghost Box storyline, as a dire situation may arise if the X-Men fail to solve the mystery! Plus, an explosive new cover featuring the magnificent art work of the talented Simon Bianchi! Plus, the issue is packed full of extras including scripts, layouts and more!
Warren Ellis has adapted perfectly to writing the X-Men and the critics couldn't agree more!
"His dialogue flows naturally and realistically; the X-Men sound like real people here, and like ones who genuinely enjoy each other's company… Ellis certainly has adapted quickly to the title." – Greg McElhatton of ComicBookResources.com
"Warren Ellis is the only writer I've read who has never let me down… The single thing that Ellis does that makes him my favorite working writer is what makes me so excited about this iteration of the X-Men. He takes science fiction concepts and makes them believable by working through their real-world implications." – Paul Brian McCoy of ComicsBulletin.com
