Police responded to a call at Britney Spears' manse last night. But this time, they weren't there to pick-up the former child star. In fact, what makes this particular call newsworthy is that they were there to cite paparazzi!
Indeed, the cadre of yellow journalists in constant pursuit of Spears (pap-Spears?) were trying to snap pics of her as she left manager Sam Lutfi's car. The two allegedly had words, possibly pertaining to Lutfi's call to The View's Barbara Walters yesterday. As we reported, Lutfi supposedly told Bah-Bah Wah-Wah that Brit-Brit is seeing a psychiatrist and that her mother, Lynne Spears, was "instrumental" in seeing this through.
As the story goes, Spears argued with Lutfi, then leapt from his car and onto her gated grounds, from whence she phoned one Adnan Ghalib to pick her up. She then screamed at paparazzi to leave her alone, saying, "I'm sitting for once and having a nice time with my dog!" She sat with her little doggy for a while before accepting a ride from a paparazzo. When Ghalib arrived, he was not allowed entry.
Police came and cited several paparazzi for illegal parking.
Sometime later, Spears' parents arrived at the home. Shortly thereafter, Spears got into Ghalib's car and the two sped-off to a gas station, where Spears spent approximately 10 minutes in the bathroom before the two left.
Spears has been repeatedly criticized for "working" the paparazzi - tipping them off as to when she is leaving the house and where she is going - for publicity.
