Cleaning Products

If, like me, you have pets or possibly young ones around the house and you are concerned for their health and safety when it comes to some of the household chemicals you employ, you should consider using green cleaning products. Not all of them are harmless, mind you, but you might feel more comfortable with all natural components than you do chemicals and you should be able to find at least some products that are harmless enough to make a difference.

Handles

I have to be honest, I am not really certain what these things are but they are apparently handles for something or other. If you know what they are and you are looking for these online then here is the place to find them! I do not know what anti-microbial anything are nor what they are used for but I am certain that those who do and are looking for them will make good use of this link.

Reid

The Internet has forever changed the way we do things to the extent that entire industries have, or are, failing - most notably print industries but others as well. There are some things that are destined not to change however, such as pharmacies and even hardware stores. People need products from these stores for which they cannot wait to be mailed to them. Still, pharmacies and hardware outlets such as Reid Supply hardware are online now but I do not think brick and mortar outlets for these things will ever go away completely. If you can stand to wait, you are almost certain to save money shopping online, so keep that in mind when planning household projects.

Spring Cleaning

A whole lot of posts are about how I'm having trouble doing this or finding that - usually because I can't locate something or other. Getting organized takes a little while, but nowhere near as long as staying organized. Those type-A people can say what they want, but staying organized is hard work - it takes more time than being disorganized! Still, I always feel better when things are where I can find them and so forth and I really am more productive.

But I rarely get to that point until I literally have to.

Luckily (to some extent), my apartment manager does a yearly inspection of the units before renewing our rental agreement, so at least once a year, I really have to clean my house. That time is now. I've been putting it off for a month or so - doing a little here and a little there, but nowhere near enough - and tomorrow is D-Day.

So here I sit at midnight, the hallway littered with books and papers and milkcrates as I try to situate things just enough to get them out of the way. I cleaned the sink in the bathroom and now have to do the toilet and floor. I have a sinkful of dishes (I washed some earlier and had to wait for them to dry) and the fridge to do as well, but I got the freezer knocked-out. And I also have to do the stove and spot-mop around the entire house.

Then I have to set the alarm to get up at the break of dawn so I can sprinkle nice-smelling stuff all over the place and vacuum it up. I'm burning incense tonight and I'm going to wash all the ashtrays before I go to bed... It's a heck of a lot to do in one night, but I've been so busy with everything else that I simply haven't had the chance to get to it!

Then I'm unplugging the phone and sleeping literally until I wake up.

Bathroom Faucets

Just the other day, I talked about how I had a fetish for bathroom decor. Not so certain that "fetish" is the right word, but it sounds cool and somewhat sexy in this regard, so I'm using it.

Seriously, I really do care about my bathroom's appearance and usefulness. A dirty bathroom disgusts me, as well it should everyone, but a clean, ugly bathroom is almost as bad. Dirty bathrooms are gross and unhealthy, but ugly bathrooms can be almost as dangerous to your aesthetics. That's why beautiful tiling, pretty wallpaper, and a sparkling new Grohe faucets are essential to a great bathroom.

You are going to spend a lot of time in your bathroom, whether you like it or not, so why not make it one of the nicest rooms in your home?

One Mess at a Time

Okay, so I spent an inordinate amount of time actually cleaning the house, as opposed to doing anything online. But I guess that is keeping in-line with my one day off schedule I have been discussing as late. I mean after all, I don't care who you are, you really do have to have at least one day here and there to take care of personal business and I just got on a bit of a tear today and did it.

Technically, I didn't get anywhere near as much done as I had hoped, but it was better than the nothing I have not been doing for the past several months. This is important, since I have an inspection coming up in a few weeks. Just like The Weirding, if I can just do one or two things every day, no matter how small or insignificant they may seem at the time, within weeks, I have accomplished most of the stuff that was intimidating me into never getting started in the first place. With all of the niggling, little things out of my way, I am able to tackle the larger problems.

I still can't walk a straight line without banging into things, but it's a start. And if I can just keep up with it like so, then maybe by Halloween, I'll have the stuff up that I was hoping to!

Not to mention a decent-looking house and home-office!
