I guess The Smoking Dud ran its course, but it doesn't seem like two weeks. I'm too lazy to go check the blog entry I made to see for sure, but had I been watching it, it would have seemed like three. What a really bad show and even worse idea.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force (ATHF, for short) started its new season off dismally, but seemed to redeem itself with the second showing, Hand Banana, which was far more in line with the older episodes. It had that same sense of humor and subdued vocal work, but it brought with it the newfound "shock" and irreverence for itself that Dickesode showcased. Still, it was a step in the right direction and I thought things were going to be okay.
The episode this weekend, which I have completely blocked out of my mind, proved otherwise. I wanted to write about it that night, and now I wish I had, because I truly do not remember one thing about it. I only remember it was pretty bad.
Luckily, [Adult Swim] is rerunning the original ATHF episodes in the 11:00 timeslot (CST -- where Smoking Gun and Robot Chicken have been playing recently). If you are jonesing for the good stuff, have never really watched the show, or have rowed in your appreciation of the finer things (Mayren... ahem!), now is the time to watch! They aired the first two episodes tonight and they only get better from here.

I remember what it was now! Frylocke got skin cancer. Yeah! That was it. I think it had one funny line in the whole thing, though I seem to remember Carl jabbering a lot. It was a truly depressing, pointless episode.
