Entertainment Tonight and its sister show, The Insider, have agreed not to show a video showing Heath Ledger at a party where drugs are being consumed. The late actor visibly drinks and discusses former drug use.
The tape, culled from an unidentified source for "a large sum of money," was previewed yesterday on The Insider. It shows a man apparently indulging in cocaine as Ledger stands in the doorway. Ledger says "I am going to get serious shit from my girlfriend [for being at the party]." Later, he drinks beer and rolls a cigarette while admitting "I used to smoke five joints a day for twenty years."
Numerous people have indicated Heath Ledger used drugs and his death appears to be from an overdose, though autopsies have not confirmed this. Ledger does not take drugs in the video.
Celebrity Rehab's Dr. Drew Pinski called the video "heartbreaking."
