You've probably seen that line here more than once or twice. The RunDown uses sponsored posts in order to offset the costs of blogging here and I've always used that tagline at the top of those posts (well, I may forget it once in a while, but more often than not, I use it). When I am particularly inspired by an ad or service, or it fits well with the subjects we tend to cover here, I try to weave the sponsored post in as best I can, but when I am really busy or just need the money, I will just write whatever the sponsor is about, blahblahblah.

Now, I've always done sponsored posts this way because I always felt a little dirty when I would read a post that wound up being a commercial. I always felt like I'd been taken for a ride, gotten the Borat, or what have you. So when I took on sponsors, I decided then that unless the sponsor was about something I enjoy discussing anyway, I was going to make sure to let people know on the front-end that they were about to read a sponsored post. Now, one of our major sponsors has made this mandatory.

At any rate, it's not going to affect how things operate around here, but I just thought some of you might be interested in the story.
