Whew! America dodged a bullet today, when screen actress, Sandra Bullock's, 56-year old stalker was charged with stalking and assault. While reports indicate the woman told police she'd seen "every one of [Bullock's] movies," and that Bullock and husband, celebrity TV mechanic, Jesse James, had found palm fronds, pieces of animal fur, and other strange "offerings" from the woman, Orange County police figure she's better off behind bars than on a psychiatrist's couch. Then they left the courtroom and beat the living shit out of some guy for loitering - a few broken legs will make sure he keeps moving! Well, you know, after several years of intensive physical therapy. But that sumbitch done got what he deserves! I know I feel safer.
I've been a huge opponent of the idea that celebrities' sex tapes should be released for public consumption when they are not produced for such. I've been a HUGE opponent of the "stalker-azzi" who engage in many of the same practices as Bullock's stalker. However, I noticed that Bullock made no offers to pay for this woman's medical treatment. I firmly believe this woman to be slightly... insane. At the very least, I'd say she has... "issues." I also firmly believe that some time in therapy, and/or some medication, or at least joining the Church of Scientology, could make a huge difference in how she behaves. And I don't know her financial situation, but I feel fairly confident in assuming that Bullock and James just might have enough money laying around to get her some decent help. It doesn't have to be top-of-the-line, Liza Minnelli-type help - just slightly better than what she could afford through an HMO. Well, okay, a lot better than what she could afford through an HMO, but not like Robert Downey, Jr.-type help.
To reiterate the points I made when I first reported this, I firmly believe that Bullock and her family deserve protection from this woman, but I also think punishing her to be a total waste of tax-payer time and money. If Bullock thinks otherwise, I'm sure she could "scrape-up" the several (hundred?) thousand dollars it will take to convict and house her.
Because, at some point, those of us who pay the taxes it takes to convict and house the mentally ill are going to run out of money. And since we've done so much for Sandra Bullock, we should all feel welcome to crash outside her garage.
And, hey - so long as we bring a camera - we'll be perfectly within our legal rights.

I think Marcia Diane Valentine should be put away for along time. But ill bet she gets one year with good behavior. Just looking at this woman gives ya the creeps.Where do these wierdos come from? Bet she'll be at it again soon, and the next time someone will get hurt.
I agree that she needs some help, but she's not going to get the kind of help she needs in prison and we all know that.
And part of what you say is what I was getting at, in that even if she does go to jail, she's going to be just as bad when she gets out as she was when she went in - if not worse!
