Well, I went to the cable offices to pay in person and pick up a cable modem. That's when they told me that it is like $30 for the first 3 months, then goes up to $45.00! That's three times what I am paying right now for dial-up.
Now, I worked as tech supervisor for RoadRunner high-speed internet back in 1999-2000 and it was right at $50.00 a month then! I thought prices had gone down some in the past ten years? I mean, I hate to be picky, but a big $5.00 discount ain't about shit!
Now I don't have to enter any kind of contract, but what's the point in going through getting it hooked up and paying $20 more for three months if I am not going to be able to afford it for any longer than that? Hell, I'm already paying $80 a month for cable!
Ah well... here's to slow-assed surfing.
