Some TV Bits Between Babbling

Wow! It is cold out there today/tonight! I walked to the store earlier - it's only about a mile down the road and I like to try and walk down there at least once a day or so just to get out and get a little exercise - and I nearly froze to death! I had on a T-shirt, a sweater, a scarf, a toboggan, and a heavy coat, and I still came in and made a cup of hot chocolate! It was really, really cold then and the temperature online says it's 32º out there right now (but it said it was like 40-somethingº when I walked and I contend it was colder)...

So I'm watching American Idol - I know, I know, but it's literally the only thing on tonight that I haven't already seen. IFC has Minor Accomplishments and The Business - both of which I could not recommend more, but I saw already - and CW has The Reaper, also a repeat but also a good show. I sincerely doubt I'll bother to watch all of American Idol - I only did one year and that was a long time ago; I'll catch the first few episodes and then drop-out, then tune-in to see who made the top ten, then one or two episodes in, they'll eliminate the best one and I'll quit and read who won online.

If you're wondering why I haven't talked about the Sarah Connor Chronicles, it's because I just caught my first episode last night and I think I missed one. I'm going to look through the Blogosphere tonight and then wait until next Monday to see what I think. I did enjoy what I watched last night, though.

I was surfing around last night when I came across some great news: Joel Hodgson is back, doing the MST3K-thing, y'all! It's true: he and some of the original cast members and others have opened CinematicTitanic and are ready to go. Of course, Mike and those guys can be found over to RiffTrax, doing much the same thing. Hopefully, the two teams will get together and do at least one or two projects, but we shouldn't hold our collective breath. Still great to see them all back and maybe I'll be able to grab a copy of the new stuff and let you know what I think one of these days.

Speaking of which, I do have to get to some of the reviews I've been meaning to write. I really am a bit of a perfectionist (to some extent) when it comes to these things - as many of the RSS-subscribers can attest - and I often start reviews, then run out of steam because I can't figure out how best to word them, etc. I have been known to spend entire days working on a single post, then scrapping it at the last hour... still, I have to spend at least a little time doing it because I can see the erosion between the reviews I did when I was actively reviewing and the ones I've done lately and there is... it's just awful. I apologize for that, but it can be difficult to get back into the swing of something once you're out of practice and can't really afford to focus on it as much as you'd like. Now that I have a better handle on how the whole blogging thing works, I am going to go back and polish my skills and hopefully bring the two together like I'd planned to do to begin with.

Anyway, just felt like slapping the gums a bit, I guess... er, tapping the keys - whatever. Hope everyone's staying warm and everything is going well. Send money and wimmins.
