On Paris, Again

Well, this debacle has become a full-fledged media circus and international news event.

Paris decided she could skip court this morning and just call in. The judge is apparently outraged by this, as well as the sheriff's decision to release her without the judge's consent. No one's really sure if the sheriff has the authority to make such an executive decision, but apparently this has been a touchy subject in LA for over a decade now.

Accordingly, due to overcrowding (which I'm sure has nothing to do with illegal immigration), about 12 years ago, the sheriff began telling people, 'Everyone whose bail is under $10k, I'm letting you go.' When the judges learned this, they began increasing the bail. In return, the sheriffs started saying, 'Everyone whose bail is under $15k, I'm letting you go.' And so on. So there is something of a precedent here.

But people are pretty upset about Paris Hilton's being able to do this for obvious reasons.

But, let me make this one point and make it crystal clear:

A lot of black activists are trying very hard to make this a racial issue. This is not a racial issue and anyone who thinks it is is a demagogue who is exploiting the situation for their own agenda. Period.

They are apparently protesting outside Paris' home, as well as the courthouse where she is supposed to appear, chanting things like, "White justice." They are militant racists who are most likely going to riot.

Mark my words.

The judge has now sent a sheriff's car to Paris Hilton's house to pick her up and escort her to the courthouse. This thing has gotten so far out of hand that it's absolutely ridiculous! Once again, America will be the laughingstock of the entire world.

You know there are countries that don't even have running water? You know there are thousands of children who are dying everyday from things like Influenza? And here we are, rioting outside of Paris Hilton's frigging house.

I take back everything I said about the rioters in India who went nutty over the Richard Gere/Shilpa Shetty debacle. This makes that look reasonable.
