Britney Spears has been released from hospital observations less than 24 hours after she was taken in. Previous reports indicated that she had to spend at least 72 hours under observation, having been admitted into the hospital as a "5150," meaning she was diagnosed as posing a threat to herself or those around her. She allegedly locked herself into a room with her son and refused to come out.
Talk show host, Dr. Phil McGraw escorted her off the premises. He claimed the fact that he was on-hand when she was released "a coincidence," and said he was "convinced more than ever that she is in dire need of both medical and psychological intervention." Well, duh.
Britney Spears' ex-husband, Kevin Federline, has been awarded sole custody of the couple's two children.
